How To Damage Guardian Shields in Fortnite?

The most recent update for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has introduced some fresh quests to the ongoing Oathbound storyline.

The new feature of this season is the appearance of Oathbound chests that can be found at different Points of Interest across the map. These chests are white and gold in color and contain better loot than the regular chests, including the coveted Guardian Shield.

The Guardian Shield is an item that can be deployed in front of you to provide temporary protection from enemy gunfire, making it an excellent defensive tool.

However, this time, your objective is to destroy the Guardian Shields as one of the Oathbound quests requires you to damage them to collect microchips.

In this article, we have mentioned the steps that will help you to complete the challenge of damaging your guardian shield in Fortnite.

Once a Guardian Shield is found, players can either shoot at it themselves or have a teammate equip it to be shot at. As the Guardian Shield takes damage, it will begin to drop microchips that players must pick up to complete the challenge.

To summarize, the process involves finding a Guardian Shield, damaging it, collecting the microchips, and delivering them to AMIE.

To complete the Fortnite challenge, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Locate a Guardian Shield which can be found in chests (Rare/Oathbound), Supply Drops, and floor loot.
  2. Either place it down and shoot at it or have a teammate equip it and shoot at it.
  3. Micro Chips will appear on the ground once the Guardian Shield has taken some damage.
  4. Collect the Micro Chips to complete the challenge and earn 20,000 XP.

Note that you can also complete this challenge by having an enemy shoot at your Guardian Shield, but it’s safer to do it in a non-combat zone.
