If you used Combat Shotgun previously in Darktide then you must remember when you press the special attack while using the Combat Shotgun. The character will start loading the ammo in the gun and when you fire ammo it sounds wired from normal fire. That’s all you see what happens when you use the special ammo in Shotgun.
But the thing is when you use the regular fire in Combat Shotgun its blasts in a circle pattern and when you use the special ammo button in Shotgun its blasts in a horizontal pattern as you also see in the above screenshot.
So if you use regular fire from a shotgun it creates a circular pattern that can be useful to knock down the individual enemy. However, with the use of special ammo, you can easily knock down multiple enemies at the same time because it creates a horizontal line.
