The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is finally out and the first impressions of the game have generated positive reviews. Based on the movie of the same name and inspired by the case of real-life murderer Ed Gein, it is a symmetrical horror experience that revolves around two teams – Victims and Family.

TCSM requires a minimum storage of 30 GB and a recommended Graphics processor: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580. The cross-play feature is only available on Steam, Windows Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Other consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4 don’t have the feature.

The gist of the game is either hunt or escape. Family, consisting of the murderers, search for Victims who try to escape a dilapidated mansion. Each character has unique abilities which they can use to either trap the opponents or bide some time. For example, the Cook has an impressive listening ability and can track the footsteps of opponents.

There are three Family members and four Victims in each game. Cooperation is key to winning each round of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre. While the killers have the advantage of strong weapons, the victims can easily overpower them with the right tactics and cunning. Way to have a happy ending!

Here are the special attributes of the Family members in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

• Cook – The Seek ability allows the Cook to listen carefully to any strange sounds he might hear around the map and pinpoint the victim’s location. He can add additional locks to doors around the map while also closing gaps.

• Sissy – The Bane ability allows Sissy to craft poisonous powders from plants to throw at enemies or use them to contaminate items around the map. She can crawl through gaps and spaces and hide to eventually pounce on Victims.

• Hitchhiker – The Trap ability gives the Hitchhiker a wide range of options to pin down Victims. Due to his past ‘experience’, he has high endurance and can continue slashing for long periods of time. He can also crawl through gaps and spaces.

• Johnny – Johnny can track the fresh footsteps of Victims around the map with his Hunt ability. Moreover, given his size, he can instantly barge doors as well as close crawl spaces in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre game.

• Leatherface – Wielding his terrifying Chainsaw, Leatherface can destroy crawl spaces, barricades, and doors. The Chainsaw can also be used for dismembering Victims similar to the 1974 classic movie.

• Connie – Connie’s Focused Ability allows her to pick locks much faster than other characters, trading off stamina and environment proximity warnings. The character operates on a high risk-high reward due to her low awareness of her surroundings.

• Julie – Julie’s Ultimate Escape Star Sign allows her to get reduced stamina while sprinting, which comes in handy especially when up against the slower members of the Family like the Cook.

• Leland – Leland has the Life Saver ability that allows him to stun a Family member and save a Victim’s life. Thus, he can interrupt kill animations from happening when someone is captured in an encounter.

• Sonny – Sonny has a Heightened Sense that allows his situational awareness to increase and detect noises of any Family member nearby. His cooperation is of utmost importance for the survival of Victims.

• Ana – Ana takes significantly reduced damage from attacks, falls, and jumping out of windows, thanks to her Star Sign called Pain is Nothing.

Each character cannot be taken twice by players of the same team. Additionally, those preferring cross-play will be matched with players that use the same console. For example, a PlayStation 5 user will be matched with another PlayStation 5 user.
