One of the things that distinguishes Baldur’s Gate 3 from even the best RPGs ever is the sheer number of options accessible. This game provides you with a staggering variety of approaches and solutions to the numerous difficulties you’ll face along the route. As a result, you’d imagine the game would make it simple to modify your character’s appearance and class.
However, it turns out that one of those possibilities is far more accessible than the other. Here’s all you need to know about customizing the looks of your character in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to change character appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3
Unfortunately, in the standard edition of Baldur’s Gate 3, there is no option to directly modify your look. For example, you cannot just visit a specific NPC or open a menu to change your character’s physique, race, or other key physical attributes.
You’ll want to make sure you’re satisfied with your character’s appearance before leaving the first character creation screen, as that’s the only area in the game where you have total control over their appearance.
However, you may change your character’s appearance more subtly during the game. For example, you can always utilize the Shapeshifter Mask to modify your fundamental appearance. Players who purchased the Deluxe edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 will discover the Mask of the Shapeshifter in the neighboring inventory chest at their campground.
By placing the item in your character’s “Helmet” inventory slot, you will obtain the ability “Shapeshift.” When you click on that spell and then on your character, you’ll be offered with a variety of possible looks that function as disguises.
As a result, if you choose to disguise yourself as another race, you will have access to the unique interaction choices that race would normally have. You’ll also receive access to some of that race’s unique benefits, which can come in helpful when attempting to solve puzzles that demand a certain touch.
Unfortunately, the Shapeshifter Mask does not enable you to fully modify your look. Furthermore, if you did not purchase the Deluxe edition of Baldur’s Gate 3, there is no known way to obtain the Mask of the Shapeshifter.
So that’s how to change appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3 as I’ll see you in the next guide.
