Old Friends, New Beginnings is a time research quest exclusive to European Pokemon Go players. It was released on May 30, 2023, and has made previous appearances when new languages like Spanish were added. 

It is a two-step timed research that will allow you to encounter Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Bulbasaur. The rewards include Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Pikachu, Mega Energy, and candy.

Step 1

  • Earn 12 hearts with your partner – Bulbasaur
  • Earn 3000 XP – Charmander
  • 10x Power-up Pokemon – Squirtle

REWARD

  1. Bulbasaur Candy

  3. 20x Charmander Candy

Step 2

  • Claim Reward: 100x Venusaur Mega Energy
  • Claim Reward: 100x Blastoise Mega Energy
  • Claim Reward: 100x Charizard Mega Energy

  2. 20x Pikachu Candy

Trainers can get twice as many hearts from their buddies during this event. Trainers in Europe can claim Time Research quests by logging into the game from May 30 – June 28, 2023.
