Ubisoft’s critically acclaimed Rainbow Six Mobile could be the next big thing in the mobile tactical shooter game market. The developers have dropped a major teaser on when will Rainbow Six Mobile be released after having tested the game multiple times in its Beta stages in the past few months.
Following in the footsteps of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, the latter was first released on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in December 2015. Exactly a year later the game debuted on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Siege is still praised for its tactical multiplayer mechanics, different gameplay modes such as Secure and Bomb, Objective, hostage rescue, and constantly updating content.
Launching Rainbow Six Mobile will be Tencent’s third major project on mobile shooter games apart from PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds, and Respawn and Tencent’s Apex Legends Mobile. R6M is being developed by WeGame, Tencent’s flagship game portal.
Rainbow Six Mobile will be released in 2023
In the development stages since 2022, players had the chance to participate in the Rainbow Six Mobile Closed Beta until November 8. They provided feedback on the game mechanics and many updates/tweaks were made to the game. All the while, the Rainbow Six Siege Twitter account engaged with the community via giveaways, game hype posts, and a Fan Art Contest.
The next stage of development, Rainbow Six Mobile Closed Beta 2.0. was released in June 2023 for selected players. The developers finished the beta cycle in July and improved the quality of life mechanics in the game and implemented bug fixes. It seemed they were ready for a soft launch but it was only confirmed a week ago.
The official Twitter account of Rainbow Six Mobile confirmed that they will be “taking a short break to enjoy the summer holidays” while prepping for a soft launch. Thus, R6M will seemingly be available for play in the next two-three months.
What operators can you play in Rainbow Six Mobile?
Rainbow Six Mobile has announced 17 different operators with eight on Attack, eight on Defense, and Recruit, who can play for both sides in the game.

R6M will be available on IOS and Android. For now, it is unknown which countries will be part of the Soft Launch. Given the player base and fan hype, it is most likely going to be in China, parts of the United States of America, and in the United Kingdom.
