Baldur’s Gate 3 House with Flowers Quest Guide

he House of Flowers, nestled in Baldur’s Gate 3’s Shadow-Cursed Lands, can be encountered either accidentally while exploring or during quests involving Halsin. However, it can be a perplexing place to navigate. This guide aims to assist you in understanding how to find your way in the House of Flowers in BG3.

Important Note: This guide contains spoilers for specific Act 2 quests in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Finding Your Way Through the House of Flowers

To begin, you’ll find the House of Flowers in the central part of the Shadow-Cursed Lands, specifically in the Ruined Battlefield near the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint. Your interactions here depend on your prior actions in Act 2.

If, like me, you happened upon the House of Flowers by chance, you’ll encounter Oliver, a Shadow Tiefling child who suggests playing a game of hide-and-seek. If you’re struggling to locate him, refer to our guide on playing Oliver’s hide-and-seek game. After winning the game, Oliver won’t engage in further conversation. For now, this is all you can do at the House of Flowers.

Your next visit to the House of Flowers might occur when you assist Halsin with Thaniel. After Halsin rescues Thaniel from the shadow portal, he’ll inform you that Thaniel isn’t recovering well because a part of him remains in the shadow realm. Surprisingly, Oliver is Thaniel’s other half, and you’ll need to return to the House of Flowers to convince Oliver to aid Thaniel.

If you’re on this quest with Halsin and haven’t met Oliver before, you won’t possess this information. Instead, you’ll need to travel to the House of Flowers and meet Oliver for the first time. You can still play the same hide-and-seek game, but you’ll also have a dialogue option to try to persuade him to assist Thaniel.

Regardless of whether you’re returning to the House of Flowers after previously meeting Oliver or meeting him for the first time, Oliver will initially resist helping. He’ll depart through a portal to another part of the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Follow him through the portal, defeat the shadow enemies, and rescue Oliver from his protective shield.

Afterward, you can convince Oliver that assisting Thaniel is in his best interest. Telling Oliver that he’ll always have someone to play with seems to be all he needs to hear.

This transformation changes Oliver back into a real boy, and he proceeds to help Thaniel. You can then return to camp to speak with Halsin and receive a positive status update on Thaniel. This concludes all possible encounters at the House of Flowers in BG3.
