How to Use the Adamantine Forge

After getting to Grymforge, you’ll locate the Adamantine Forge far below the Duergar staging area. In order to craft items with it, players will have to do the following:

  • Insert a Weapon or Armor Mould into the Mould Chamber.
  • Insert Mithral Ore into the Crucible.
  • Release the Lava Valve.
  • Pull the Forge Lever.

Continue to pull the Forge Lever to bring the massive hammer down on the Crucible. A completed object will ultimately emerge from the Mould Chamber, allowing players to repeat the process. This is only possible after fighting Grym, the huge golem guarding the forge.

Grym is immune to all types of damage until it gets the Superheated debuff, which may be obtained by walking over lava. Keep someone close to the Lava Valve at all times. Grym may be killed in two assaults by enticing it onto the anvil and dropping the hammer.

There appear to be some problems with the Adamantine Forge. For starters, if Grym dies and clips into the anvil, players may be unable to add more Mithral Ore to the Crucible, thereby keeping them out of future crafting sessions. At the time of writing, there is no known mechanism to transfer Grym, however this may be fixed in the future.

Another issue is a glitch that causes an endless stream of lava, preventing players from rising the forge. This may be avoided by saving and restarting the game, or by switching to Turn-based Mode and waiting for the environment to turn.
