Excavation camps are a new type of location that was added to Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 2. These camps are located all over the map and are home to a variety of resources, including weapons, ammunition, and crafting materials.
Excavation camps are also important for completing certain challenges. In this Season week 12, one of the challenges requires players to visit three excavation camps upon which 25,000 experience points will be rewarded upon completion.
There are three excavation sites in Fortnite namely.
- On the road leading northwest of the megacity
- South of anvil square
- North of anvil square
The good thing is that excavation camps are close to each other so if you want to finish the quest in a single match you should be able to do it as long as you don’t run into aggressive players.
On the road leading northwest of the megacity
To start this challenge, a land far northwest of MEGA CITY at a Landmark called Hitches And Ditches. The excavation camp will be located a short distance east of this Landmark. Look for the tents present in and around the fault in the ground to find the excavation camp.
South of anvil square
Players can find this camp to the south of Anvil Square. It is by the south side of the lake at this point of interest.
North of anvil square
Head north towards Anvil Square. Avoid going through the POI as it’s often a hot-drop location in most matches.
Instead, go around it and keep to the high ground to avoid being ambushed. The third and final excavation camp can be found north of ANVIL. Keep an eye out for the red-colored trees in the area. They will serve as landmarks.
When visiting an excavation camp, be sure to be on the lookout for enemies. These camps are often popular with other players, so it’s important to be prepared for a fight.
