Gale at some point becomes a bit of a stumbling block in the game but as you learn more about him and his condition, you’ll discover that if he dies on the battlefield, he’ll leave you with another awful surprise: Necrotic Aura.
While Baldur’s Gate 3 contains about everything you might want, one thing it lacks is the opportunity to take a shower and stop being a stinky boy, so you’ll have to come up with another solution to get rid of this terrible affliction.

How to Get Rid of Necrotic Aura in BG3
Initial Confusion
You are befuddled when confronted with the problem of coping with the Necrotic Aura during their playing. You might begin a trial by casting several Water spells on Gale, the impacted character. However, this quest is likely to fail since it not only fails to cleanse the aura, but it also leads to the destruction of the whole party, leaving just Gale as the Stinky Wizard remaining.
A Different Approach
After returning to the most recent saved game, you must use a different strategy: initiate a Long Rest. This has shown to be the cure for restoring Gale, a popular spellcaster, to his old self. While there is a minor chance that the player would awaken with the Bloodless status effect, it will be a joyful sight to see Gale’s return to his vibrant self, now free of the awful stink.
The Simplicity of the Solution
In essence, getting rid of Necrotic Aura and reviving Gale came down to getting him a decent night’s sleep. There are no spells on the mainland that can successfully remove this aura, ruling out simple remedies like a cold shower.
It was critical to have an appropriate amount of Camp Supplies to allow for a full night of Long Rest, allowing Gale to resume the trip in peak condition.
