Netherite armor is an item which can be crafted in Minecraft with the Nether update. If you wish to survive against tough enemies, Netherite Armor is one of the most potent, sturdy, and long-lasting pieces of armor in the game.
It takes the rare item – Netherite Ingot, to upgrade existing Diamond armor to Netherite Armor. To collect all the required items, you need to keep farming in the Nether. All of the enchantments you have on the Diamond armor will remain the same in the upgraded version. Mending is the only enchant that is no longer compatible with Netherite.
You need one Netherite Ingot to convert your Diamond armor to Netherite. Netherite Scraps are required to create a Netherite ingot. Furthermore, you need Ancient Debris to create Netherite Scraps. To start mining for Ancient Debris, explore deep into the Nether. It is quite rare and mostly discovered at y level 15.
How To Craft Netherite Armor
In order to craft the Netherite Armor you need to collect the following things.
- Netherite ingot
- Diamond armor
- Smithing table
One unit of Ancient Debris can be smelted into one Netherite Scrap, and it takes four Netherite Scraps to form a Netherite Ingot. Therefore, you must continue mining until you get 4 blocks of it.
Smelt it in a furnace to produce four Netherite Scraps, and combine them, with four Gold Ingots by placing Netherite Scraps on the top row and the first box of the second row and then placing gold ingots in the remaining boxes on the a crafting table to create a Netherite Ingot.
Place the newly obtained Netherite Ingot and the Diamond armor on a Smithing table to make the Netherite armor. You can craft the table using four wooden planks and two iron ingots if you don’t have one.

Netherite Helmet
In the Upgrade Gear menu, Put 1 smithing template in the first box, 1 diamond helmet in the second box, and 1 netherite ingot in the third box to make Netherite Helmet.

Netherite Chestplate
In the Upgrade Gear menu, put 1 smithing template in the first box, 1 diamond chestplate in the second box, and 1 netherite ingot in the third box to craft Netherite Chestplate.
- Defense: 8
- Armor: 3
- Durability: 592
- +1 Knockback Resistance
Netherite Leggings
In the Upgrade Gear menu, put 1 smithing template in the first box, 1 diamond leggings in the second box, and 1 netherite ingot in the third box to craft Netherite Leggings.
- Defense: 6
- Armor: 3
- Durability: 555
- +1 Knockback Resistance
Netherite Boots
In the Upgrade Gear menu, put 1 smithing template in the first box, 1 diamond boots in the second box, and 1 netherite ingot in the third box to craft Netherite Boots.
