Metang is a steel and psychic-type Pokémon 3-star raid boss that players have to battle in Pokemon GO. To defeat Metang, trainers will need to bring some heavy firepower to the battlefield.
However, If you’re under level 35, I recommend calling a friend to join you to defeat Metang. It doesn’t have too many weaknesses, but with the right squad, I’m sure you can beat it.
How to Catch Metang in Pokemon Go
The only way to catch a Metang is to get a Beldum and evolve it into a Metang by feeding it 25 Beldum candies. Mind you Beldum is a rare Pokémon living in the wild. So to find them, head over to the Silph Road Global Nest Atlas to find the nearest Beldum nest.
All Metang Weaknesses
The Steel and Psychic Pokemon will be weak to Dark, Fire, Ghost, and Ground-type moves, but it’s immune to Dragon, Fairy, Grass, Ice, Normal, Poison, Psychic, Rock, and Steel-type attacks. This resistance makes Metang evolve into Metagross.
Best Pokemon Counters to Metang
The best Pokémon you can use to counter Metang are Chandelure, Houndoom, and Heatran.
Chandelure is a Ghost and Fire-type Pokémon with fast moves which makes it one of my favourites to take on Metang. The best moveset Chandelure can use against Metang that’ll give the team a fighting chance is the shadow ball and flame charged moves.
Another choice is Houndoom, a Dark and Fire-type Pokémon capable of harming Metang by using Dark and Fire-type moves against it. The best moveset you can use in the fight will be the fast move snarl and flamethrower.
The final Pokémon to use to battle Metang is the legendary Fire and Steel Heatran Pokemon. The best moveset Heatran can use during these battles will be the fast move fire spin, the flamethrower and iron head.
Can Metang be Shiny in Pokemon Go
Yes, Shiny Metang is available in Pokemon Go but you cannot catch it on raid battles. You need to be lucky to encounter the Shiny Metang in the game.
That’s all you need to know about how to catch Metang Pokemon GO, his weaknesses and best counters as I’ll see you in the next guide. Until then check more relevant guides on our Pokemon Go guides section.
