Obsidian Flames is a significant Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion that features type-shifted Tera Pokemon, illustrations rare, and 4 Charizard ex cards. These rare cards have different Energy types, such as Dark Charizard ex or Electric Tyranitar ex.
The release date for Pokémon TCG Obsidian Flames is August 11, 2023. Ruler of the Black Flame (Japanese version) will debut in Japan sooner on July 28, and the Traditional Chinese will release on August 11. Pre-orders are currently being accepted at a number of places, including numerous local gaming stores (FLGS).
Charizard ex (Darkness), Tyranitar ex (Lightning), and Eiscue ex (Fire) are all making a debut in this expansion. Due to the Terastallization phenomenon, Charizard ex will be a Dark Tera-type Pokémon with a crystal-like appearance. Attacks by fire will be expensive. As a Darkness card, fire attacks will have a cost and it will be vulnerable to the Grass-type.
The Obsidian Flames collection has four Charizard ex cards in total. They are
- Standard version
- Full Art version
- Secret Illustration Rare version
- Gold rare version.
The average price per card for the Secret Illustration Rare Charizard ex is $250, whereas the average price per card for the Gold Rare card is $139.25. Each card in the Full Art version costs roughly $75.
The Pokémon Tera ex cards produce versions of many sorts. They will employ the identical Energy cards as their predecessors, but all vulnerabilities and defenses will correspond to the changed type.
On the Pokémon website, an introduction about Pokémon TCG: Obsidian Flames was posted which stated:
“Red-hot embers illuminate the pitch-black night and sparks flare into an inferno as Charizard ex surges forth with newfound powers of darkness! The glittering Terastal phenomenon imbues some Pokémon ex like Tyranitar, Eiscue, and Vespiquen with different types than usual.
