Ingenious hackers leak Grand Theft Auto 6

18-year-old Arion Kurtaj, an Oxford student and a member of the hacking group called Lapsus$, breached Rockstar Games along with a 17-year-old partner. They leaked GTA 6 footage while staying in a Travelodge in London. Interestingly, they did so without internet access and just an Amazon Fire Stick and Smart TV.

Arion and his partner are “digital bandits” due to their association with the notorious Lapsus$ group as described by the court. They previously breached Nvidia and Uber systems. Kurtaj hacked Rockstar while he was in the custody of London City Police, who put him in the hotel after he had hacked Nvidia because his personal information like name and location was revealed by rival hackers.

After the teenagers leaked GTA 6 footage, Arion boldly claimed on Rockstar’s messaging group in Slack that he was ” not a Rockstar employee” but rather “an attacker.” The company checked to see if something was wrong and saw almost 100 different gameplay footage shared online.
