No matter what your role is, the way you approach playing your agent changes from map go map. Each map has its own playstyle that’s unique and as important as it is to play your own brand of Valorant. It’s also just as important to understand how to do so in relation to the map.
In this guide, we’re taking a deep dive into the Ascent map to understand how this map plays, from map specifics go team comps we’ll have everything covered so make sure you stick with me.
Ascent Map Overview
Ascent is a map with a mix of long-range angles and close-quarter duels so weapons ranging from the OP to the judge are all viable. The map has 2 doors, one located in the market connecting to B site and the other in the garden connecting to A site.
These doors are exclusively controlled by the defending side at the start of the round and allow the defending team to drastically change their strategy.
One of the most important aspect of Ascent is mid. Taking control of mid allows the attacking team open an extra avenue onto the A or B bomb site.

Best Agents for Ascent in Valorant
Jett
Jett is an agent who’s got swift movement which is important when dominating the mid. She can use the Operator on both attack and defense to get easy kills and mid-control.
Killjoy
Killjoy can hold B-site on her own and when her turret watches B-site entrance, it’s nearly impossible for attackers to enter the site without taking too much damage.
Some other agents include Sova, Omen, Sage, Fade. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of Ascent map as I’ll see you in the next guide.
