Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the upcoming second title to Final Fantasy VII Remake, now has an official release date. The date was revealed by Square Enix Director Naoki Hamaguchi. Rebirth will have new gameplay features such as character bonds and skill trees.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an action-adventure game that will be available on PlayStation and PC devices. Iconic heroes from the franchise such as Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII will take the mission of destroying Sephiroth after escaping the dystopian city of Midgar.
According to reports, players cannot carry their Remake save to Rebirth – meaning that they have to start from scratch in the upcoming game.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Release Date
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29 in the upcoming leap year. Square Enix announced the release date alongside a trailer filled with characters, locations, and minigames. Cait Sith, Vincent Valentine, Kalm, Junon, The Golden Saucer, and more characters are featured in the trailer.
Director Hamaguchi, during an interview with Gillen McAllister of PlayStation, revealed that Red XIII will have a different playstyle compared to the Remake. The beast resembling a red lion will have “his own unique “revenge gauge” mechanic. His revenge gauge charges when he guards against enemy attacks, and he can spend that charge to use various abilities once the gauge is filled” in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Although there has been no update on the size or complete character list for FF VII, it was revealed that the game will take at least a 100 hours to complete.
