Pokemon Go Glittering Garden Event: Date, time, and more

Pokemon Go will globally celebrate the Go Fests in London and Osaka with the Glittering Garden Event. As the name suggests, the special event will focus on Grass- and Bug-type Pokemon and there will be an increased chance of catching a Shiny. The Pokemon Go Glittering Garden Event will also mark the debut of Shiny Petilil.

Beginning on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. and ending on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 8:00 P.M. Local Time, trainers must participate in the Pokemon Go Glittering Garden Event if they want to complete their Shiny set. Some of the featured Pokemon will be hugely advantageous in player-versus-player battles.

Wild Spawns for Pokemon Go Glittering Garden

The following Pokemon and their shiny versions will appear more frequently in the wild during the three-day Glittering Garden event.

  • Bulbasaur – evolves into Ivysaur (25 Candy) and then Venusaur (100 Candy)
  • Jigglypuff – evolves into Wigglytuff (50 Candy)
  • Hoppip – evolves into Skiploom (25 Candy) and then Jumpluff (100 Candy)
  • Seedot – evolves into Nuzleaf (25 Candy) and then Shiftry (100 Candy)
  • Oddish – evolves into Gloom (25 Candy) and the Vileplume (100 Candy) or Bellosom (100 Candy + Sun Stone)
  • Cacnea – evolves into Cacturne (50 Candy)
  • Ferroseed – evolves into Ferrothorn (50 Candy)
  • Petilil – evolves into Lilligant (50 Candy + Sun Stone)
  • Spritzee – evolves into Aromatisse (50 Candy + Buddy Pokemon)
  • Swirlix – evolves into Slurpuff (50 Candy + Buddy Pokemon)
  • Dedenne – no evolution

Trainers exploring their local parks on specific days can encounter certain Pokemon more frequently. Use Incense and Lures to maximize their spawn rate.

  • August 5 – Petilil
  • August 6 – Cacnea
  • August 7 – Oddish
  • August 8 – Seedot

2 KM hatches and bonuses for Pokemon Go Glittering Garden

Budew, Cherubi, Sewaddle, Petilil, and Bonusweet will hatch from 2 KM Eggs during the Glittering Garden proceedings. Among these, Budew, Petilil, and Cherubi are the only ones to have a shiny form. Larvesta will also be hatchable but it will be in the super-rare/Tier 5 category.

As usual with any Pokemon Go event, trainers can capitalise on a set of bonuses. Hatching Pokemon and strengthening your relationship with the Buddy Pokemon will have increased rewards:-

  • 1/2 distance to earn hearts with your Buddy Pokemon
  • Increased chance of earning Candy XL when walking with your Buddy Pokemon
  • 1.5× Candy for hatching Pokemon
  • 1.5× Stardust for hatching Pokemon

The following Pokemon will be available to encounter when you complete certain Field Research tasks.

Timed Research will also be available at no cost. This Timed Research will give Trainers tasks focused on exploration and hatching Eggs. The Timed Research tasks and their rewards will disappear on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
