Following the success of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, Bethesda
Game Studios has put another W in their pocket as Starfield’s pre-orders
cross the 300 million mark. It is now ranked #1 in the Steam best-selling
games according to IGN although the global launch is almost a week away.
The action RPG game that takes place in 2330 AD encompasses space exploration, interacting with various NPCs, understanding the alien surroundings, and making the right choices so you get on the good books of NPCs. The space-shooting combat mechanics will come into play once the main character encounters ‘aggressive’ creatures.
Destroy the natives with high-tech weapons including guns and lasers to achieve what Elon Musk couldn’t: create outposts and colonize other planets.
When was Starfield released?
Starfield officially released on September 5 for those residing in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Ciudad de Mexico, and Sao Paolo on September 5. Gamers in New Delhi, Auckland, Sydney, Berlin, Paris, London, Beijing, and Tokyo on September got to experience the game on September 6. The timings of the release were shared by Bethesda Games on the messaging platform, X.
The main attraction of Starfield is the vast open space that it offers for
players to explore and interact. From eerily quiet planets and stars to ones
that house alien beasts or are ravaged by natural disasters, there is a
challenge in every mission. There will be four major cities that a player
must control to get the best resources for crafting guns/armor, namely New
Atlantis, Akila City, and Neon.

Starfield gameplay mechanics – What do we know
about the Trait system?
Speaking of the gameplay, Starfield also incorporates level-up mechanics
and a skill system. The main character can increase their levels by gaining
EXP points, obtainable through quests or certain actions. Each level-up will
provide the player with a ‘trait point’ which can be used to unlock abilities
from five different skill trees:-
- Physical trait: Gives the player a variety of boosts that include max health
and carry capacity.
- Social trait: Increasing the Social trait will allow better relations with NPCs,
so you can become their leader or use ‘intimidation’ in certain situations.
- Combat trait: This increases the weapon damage of choice.
- Science trait: It is focused on shortening the scanning duration and
boosting the drop rate of traits from scanning moons.
- Tech trait: Tech increases damage from turrets, robots, and vehicles.
Starfield requires 125 GB of installation space, thus putting GTA 5 and
Red Dead Redemption 2 to shame. Bethesda released a patch update of
