There has been much speculation about the ‘reality’ of GTA 6. Last year, Rockstar Games confirmed that they are slowly pooling developmental resources toward the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. However, it wasn’t confirmed whether there will be a sixth part of GTA, will they try to revive the fan-favorite San Andreas map or just a remaster is in the works.
Many fans believe that Grand Theft Auto 5, which dropped nearly a decade ago, is the last GTA project of Rockstar Games because it got a ton of content in DLCs and updates. It will take something special to surpass the popularity of the game if Rockstar isn’t opting for a remastered version. Still, there have been signs of GTA 6 being in the works.
GTA 6 alleged leaked map
According to a gameplay leaker on Twitter, GTA 6 will take place in Vice City – the map based on Miami that was first featured in the 2002-released game. Fans zoomed in on the number plate of a police car and while it said San Andreas, the car belong to the Vice City Police Department.
Gameplay footage also showed a strip club in the background along with skyscrapers. While the footage was shown in a third-person perspective, there is a chance of FPP returning to the game. Classic over-the-shoulder shooting with assault rifles, smoke grenades, and flashbangs was also seen in the now copyright/deleted videos. This massive leak suggested the possibility of a sixth edition.
GTA 6 release date seemingly confirmed
According to ongoing rumors this year, Grand Theft Auto 6 may get released somewhere around March 2024. An insider revealed that the developers are targeting the holiday season for a grand debut. However, the GTA 6 release date also be postponed to 2025 if they want to apply some fixes to it.
The latest interview with Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive CEO and Chairman, further hinted at the possibility of a release of the next version of Grand Theft Auto. The Chairman of the American gaming publisher company that owns Rockstar Games, the developers of the Grand Theft Auto series, and the hit 2K Games franchise, is looking forward to a highly successful fiscal year.
“We [Take-Two] remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance.”
