There are several methods for stopping the Windmill in Baldur’s Gate 3 and rescuing the Gnome. When you cross the stone bridge in the Blighted Village, you’ll see a Gnome being roped to a windmill by a gang of rogue Goblins.

How to Stop the Windmill in Baldur’s Gate 3

However, employing the Persuasion Charisma check is the preferable way to handle this problem. This will lead the Goblins to believe they may choose an inferior victim. They will depart the location quickly, allowing you to rescue the Gnome in Baldur’s Gate 3.
To stop the Windmill in Baldur’s Gate 3, here is what you will need to do:
- Go around the back of the windmill and you will see multiple gears rotating inside.
- Once you are in, you will notice two levers “Release Brake” and “Brake”
- Just be very careful when choosing what lever to pull, remember that releasing the brake will end up killing the poor Gnome.
- You must pull the “Brake” lever to stop the Windmill in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Once the windmill stops moving, you can return outside and liberate the Gnome. He will indicate that you may have the contents of his backpack as a prize before departing the area. Return around the rear of the windmill to discover the Gnome’s bag. You will find a hatch that goes to the windmill basement here. Once inside, you’ll discover the Gnome’s Heavy Backpack.
