Mankey Spotlight Hour (September 12, 2023): Can it be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Mankey, the Pig Monkey, will feature in this week’s Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour. It is a Fighting-type Pokemon that belongs to the Kanto region. In the manga, a wild Mankey stole Ash Ketchum’s red cap and it led to a series of hilarious sequences that included the defeat of Team Rocket.

Mankey Spotlight Hour will begin on Tuesday, September 12, at 6 P.M. Local Time and end at 7 P.M. Local Time. During this time, Mankey will be available more frequently in the wild. Use Lure Modules and Incense to attract more Mankey and increase the chances of getting a shiny variant.

Mankey Spotlight Hour bonus and shiny odds

According to multiple reports, the odds of obtaining a Shiny Mankey is 1 in 25. It has a neon hue compared to the usual form. Upon evolution, the neon color becomes a darker shade of green and shifts from its body to its limbs. The Pig Moneky Pokemon evolves into Primeape when fed 50 Mankey Candy.

The bonus for Mankey Spotlight Hour on September 12 will be 2x catch candy. Trainers will be able to collect double candy during the event, thus easing the process of evolving. There might be a few other Pokemon in the wild besides Mankey as well.

When will Annihilape appear in Pokemon Go?

Mankey’s final evolution, Annihilape, is currently unavailable in Pokemon Go. Fortunately, the upcoming Spotlight Hour could be a sign of its imminent debut. The dual Fighting/Ghost type is expected to have a max CP of 3695. With its unique typing and bulk, it is expected to be a major contender for the metas in Ultra League and even Master League although a CP of around 4000 is preferred for the latter.
