Celebrations for the Pokemon Go World Championship 2023 are underway in selected regions. With unique spawns, Raids, and new creatures made available in the pocket monster game, trainers all over the world will have a busy weekend. A free timed research while some could be obtained through codes.
The World Championship event in the Pokemon Go game will run from August 11 at 10 A.M. Local Time to August 15 at 8 P.M. Local Time. Rare Pokemon like Machop, Meditite, Scraggy, Lickitung, etc, will appear in the wild and Passimian will debut as a Raid Boss. Pokeballs and TMs can be obtained from the event-exclusive timed research.
Pokemon Go World Championship event-exclusive free timed research
Five missions are made available in the ‘Hidden Gems’ section of the Research menu when players log into Pokemon Go on August 11 at 10 A.M. LT. Completing the whole research will award trainers with a World Championship 2023 Pikachu and Elite Fast TM. Here is a full breakdown of missions and rewards:-
- Catch 5 Pokemon – 10 Poke Balls
- Power up Pokemon 5 times – 1 Fast TM
- Use 5 Charged Attacks – 10 Great Balls
- Defeat 5 Team Go Rocket Grunts – 1 Charged TM
- Battle in the Go Battle League 5 times – 10 Ultra Balls
Pokemon Go World Championship 2023 Codes
Starting from noon 12 UTC on August 11, players can get codes on the Pokemon Go live stream. Redeeming each code on Aug. 11 and Aug. 12 will give them two different types of research. The full process for the Exclusive Research is explained here.
Note that each code obtained from the live stream can be redeemed only once. However, you can watch the stream for a total of 90 minutes and share the extra two codes obtained on Day 1 with friends.
As of writing, only one free code is globally redeemable in Pokemon Go. Use either the Niantic Offer Redemption page or the in-game redemption option in the Shop menu.
