Analysing Koraidon and Miraidon’s debut in Pokemon Go

Koraidon and Miraidon are reportedly set to make their Pokemon Go debut in the next season. The two legendaries that got introduced in Scarlet & Violet this year are expected to be the highlight of Pokemon Go Season 12, which is rumored to be titled ‘Adventures Abound’, and is going to focus on Paldean-region Pokemon.

Both Koraidon and Miraidon are of dual typing but with a similar Dragon-type trait. This means that they can counter each other with draconic moves. However, Miraidon is a better alternative to Koraidon because of its unique Dragon/Electric type, while Koraidon is a Dragon/Fighting type.

Koraidon’s fighting moves will provide better coverage over direct Dragon-type counters like Ice and Rock Pokemon. However, it will take 2X damage against Fairy types. Meanwhile, Miraidon’s electric moveset will counter Flying/Fairy types and deal better damage to water-type metas like Greninja and Kyogre.

Koraidon and Miraidon Pokemon Go moveset

PokeMiners couldn’t reveal the moves for Koraidon and Miraidon but we can assume them based on their play in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. As a Dragon/Fighting-type attacker, Koraidon is apparently going to possess the following best moves:-

  • Outrage (Dragon) – Deals 110 damages for 50 energy.
  • Flare Blitz (Fire) – Deals 100 damage for 50 energy.
  • Iron Head (Steel) – Deals 60 damage for 50 energy.
  • Collision Course (Fighting) – Could be available in Community Events/Elite TM.

Miraidon, the ancient electric dragon, will apparently have the following Charged Moves.

  • Draco Meteor (Dragon) – Deals 150 damage for 100 energy.
  • Dragon Pulse (Dragon) – Deals 90 damage for 50 energy.
  • Dazzling Gleam (Fairy) – Deals 100 damage for 50 energy.
  • Electro Drift (Electric) – Could be available in Community Events/Elite TM.

Koraidon and Miraidon are the mascots of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Thus, their moveset build in Pokemon Go will be heavily inspired by that game.
