In the early stages of the Conan Exiles, you will start your survival with the wood and then you move to the iron because there are lots of benefits of iron in multiple situations. Soon you will get access of the crafting of iron to steel and soon after you craft the Hardened Steel using the Iron bars.

How To Get Hardened Steel in Conan Exiles?
In order to get the Hardened Steel you need to gather the following items.
- Furnace
- Cauldron
- Fluid Press
- Tannery
Once you have all the items required to craft the Hardened Steel. Then you need to reach to nearby crafting stations and follow the below steps to make hardened steel from all the above materials.
First use the Furance to craft the Iron bars using the Ironstone and collect them into your inventory.
Secondly again use the Furance and involve Tar and Brimstone. There are lots of places were you can found the Brimstone such as (Shattered Springs, Buccaneer Bay, Gallaman’s Tomb and more). There are two ways from which you can get the Tar first method is to use the Coal in your Fluid Press and the second method is Heads and Hides at the Tannery to get Tar.
Once you have Tar and Brimstone mixed of them use the Cauldron. So doing will produce the Steel fire that can be mixed with the Ironbar to create the Steel Bars using the Furnace.
One of the important items that need to harden the steel is Black Ice which you can find on Frozen Slopes and the Temple of Frost.
After obtaining the Black Ice you’re ready to go, Use the Furance and mix the Steel Bars and with Black Ice and you will get the Hardened Steel for your character.
