Mega Swampert is a dual Water/Ground-type Pokémon and is one of the many Pokemon that can be found in Pokemon Go’s Mega raid.
It is a Mega Raid boss, which means that it will be more difficult to defeat than a regular Raid boss. Like with other bosses defeating him will reward you with Swampert Mega Energy.
He has a maximum CP of 4975, an attack-centric stat spread comprising 283 Attack, 218 Defense and 225 Stamina Power. This gives you the idea that defeating him is not an easy task but reads through the article to find out how to best defeat him.
Mega Swampert Strengths and Weaknesses
Mega swampert is highly resistant to the following types of attacks:
- Electric attacks
- Fire attacks
- Poison attacks
- Rock attacks
- Steel attacks
Therefore, this type of attack will do little or no damage and I do not advise them when trying to defeat Mega Swampert.
However, it shows boosted weakness to grass-type attacks. In fact, it has a double weakness to this type of attack. Therefore, I highly recommend using Pokemon that possess Grass-type attacks to boost your winning chances in this Mega raid.
Recommended Group Size
The recommended group size for a Mega Swampert raid is 2-4 players. If you have a strong team of Grass-type Pokemon, you may be able to defeat Mega Swampert with just 2 players.
However, if you are not sure of your team’s strength, it is best to bring 3 or 4 players.
Best Counter Picks
The best counter for this raid is to use Grass-type Pokemon which have Grass-type attacks since this is the major weakness of Mega Swampert.
