How To Get Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2?

The ongoing Season of the Witch debuted the Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2. A revamp of the classic Monte Carlo weapon, the silver-colored automatic rifle has a new perk which is part of the original’s Markov Chain and other abilities. Thankfully, the perk involves the long-forgotten use of the attached bayonet in the gun.

Markov Chain lets players gain increased damage from melee kills and stacks the bonus in the weapon. It also grants ammo with each skill. Complementing the two perks will be Monte Carlo Catalyst’s Stochastic Vengeance perk: players can switch to a bayonet attack after every five attacks of Markov Chain. It grants Melee ability energy on use and deals increased damage with more energy.

Here is how to get Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2.

Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2 is an RNG drop

The Monte Carlo catalyst can be acquired as a drop after completing either of three modes: Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible. Although the rarity of the item is unknown, it is considered super rare since only a handful of players have got the Glaive Catalyst.

After receiving the Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2, players will need to defeat 700 combatants using the Monte Carlo to unlock its upgraded form. This sounds hectic but could be easily achieved via the PvE method either at the packed hallways of Shuro Chi or at the Loot Cave in Grasp of Avarice.

The most striking aspect of the bayonet is its increased damage potential when smashing Exotic armorlike Synthoceps and Wormgod Caress. Monte Carlo was already a lethal weapon with its incredible burst damage but the addition of the melee bayonet will lead to some solid PvP plays in the future.
