Answered: Can You Play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy begins far from the actual school, but you’re immediately sorted into your preferred house once you arrive in the game. Although many players already have plans to explore the Quidditch field and join a team, it is sad to say that you cannot play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy.
Although you can still access a flying broom and visit the Quidditch field available in the fame, you cannot play this magical sport. Although the game developers confirmed this information before the game was released, they provided an in-game explanation for why students won’t be mounting up for some Quidditch competition.
After you’re sorted into your new house, Hogwarts Legacy’s current headmaster, Professor Phineas Nigellus Black, offers a Quidditch cancellation announcement.
He said a student had suffered a major injury while playing Quidditch the previous year. Due to this accident, the staff decided the best course of action would be to cancel the Quidditch season and ban students from participating in such games.
Once the announcement is made, students begin to lament about the cancellation. However, while the sport is cancelled, flying races still occur in the game.
In these races, you can put your flight skill to the test and try to beat record times from other students. Winning these races will earn you a broomstick upgrade from Albie Weekes in Hogsmeade.
However, in the middle of the game, you’ll quickly learn from the nurse who had attended to the injured students that there’s more to this cancellation.
She shares that the student was hardly injured. However, the student is pure-blooded, and Professor Nigellus Black felt offended at the thought of a pure-blood being harmed.
Can You Play Any Sport in Hogwarts Legacy?
Sadly, no sports will be allowed in Hogwarts. Although there are many quests available that would enable players to explore this magical world, sports won’t be part of it.
If we had to guess the reason for no games in Hogwarts Legacy, the answer would be the extra work it would recover.
Creating a sport would have required longer development time and a core story that needed the sport to occur.
However, now that the game has been released, there’s a potential that some sports or a new Quidditch mode would be added to the Deluxe edition. However, chances are there was never any intention to include sports in the game, at launch, or in the deluxe edition.
