Arlo Pokemon Counters July 2023

As the Hidden Gems season enters July 2023, Pokemon trainers all over the world are desperate to beat Team Rocket leader Arlo. 

Arlo is one of the three Team Go Rocket Leaders in Pokémon Go. He is a powerful opponent who uses Shadow Pokémon, which are stronger than their regular counterparts. Arlo is a difficult opponent to defeat but with the right counters.

It is possible to beat him. You will need a powerful team with high combat levels in order to do so. Thankfully as with all Pokemon, there are weaknesses to take advantage of and in this article, we will show you how you can do so.

Arlo Pokemon Go lineup July 2023

With the Team GO Rocket Takeover Event that was launched on March 25, 2023, Arlo’s lineup made some changes. The current lineup of Arlo as of July 2023 are follows.

Pokemon #1 – Shadow Aipom

In Pokémon GO, the Shadow Aipom normal type Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, it has a maximum CP of 1524 and the following stats: 136 ATK, 112 DEF, and 146 STA.

Shadow Aipom Best Counters

Pokemon #2 – Shadow Alakazam, Shadow Mismagius, or Shadow Sharpedo

Arlo’s next choice might be either Shadow Alakazam, Shadow Mismagius or Shadow Sharpedo. The Pokemon you decide to use will rely heavily on Arlo’s pick. Shadow Alakazam and Shadow Sharpedo can be defeated with ghost and dark types but Shadow Mismagius will need something different.

Shadow Alakazam Counters

In Pokémon GO, Shadow Alakazam is a Psychic type Pokemon. In Pokemon GO, it has a maximum CP of 3456 with the following stats: 271 ATK, 167 DEF, and 146 STA.

Shadow Mismagius Counters

In Pokemon GO, Shadow Mismagius is a Ghost type Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, it has a maximum CP of 2957 and the following stats: 211 ATK, 187 DEF, and 155 STA.

Shadow Sharpedo Counters

In Pokemon GO, Shadow Sharpedo is a Water and Dark type Pokemon. In Pokemon GO, it has a maximum CP of 2466 and the following stats: 243 ATK, 83 DEF, and 172 STA.

POKEMON #3 – Shadow Scizor, Shadow Snorlax, or Shadow Magnezone

Arlo’s last choice might be either Shadow Scizor, Shadow Snorlax, or Shadow Magnezone. 

Shadow Scizor Counters

Shadow Scizor is a bug and Steel-type pokemon which is weak to fire type moves. It is however resistant to Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Steel, Grass and Poison type moves.

Shadow Snorla Counters

Shadow Snorla is normal type Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, it has a maximum CP of 3647 with the following stats: 190 ATK, 169 DEF, and 330 STA.

Shadow Magnezone Best Counters

In Pokémon GO, Shadow Magnezone is an Electric and Steel type Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, it has a maximum CP of 3623 with the following stats: 238 ATK, 205 DEF, and 172 STA.

How to Battle Arlo in Pokemon Go

To battle Arlo in Pokemon Go, you will need to:

1. Defeat 6 Team GO Rocket Grunts to collect enough Mysterious Components to build a Rocket Radar.
2. Activate the Rocket Radar and you will be able to see the location of a Rocket Leader.
3. The game will not tell you which Leader you are facing, but you have a 33% chance for it to be Arlo.
4. Fighting Arlo is more difficult than fighting Grunts, as Leaders use higher level Pokémon than Grunts.
5. In order to defeat Arlo, it is recommended to use good counters. You can rematch if you lose, and your Rocket Radar will be consumed if you win.

Rewards for Beating Arlo or Any Rocket Leader

For defeating Arlo or any other of the three team leaders, the rewards are the following items:

• 1,000 Stardust
• A random selection of two of the following items:
  • 12km egg
  • Revive
  • Max Revive
  • Max Potion
  • Unova Stone
  • Sinnoh Stone

If your egg inventory store is open, it is sure to be filled by a 12km strange egg for one of those two bundles but receiving a strange egg does not have an effect on which item bundle drops along it.
