Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best nature-related action role-playing games and finding its alternative can be tough for every gamer.
However, we have tested some of the games that have the same gameplay as Horizon Zero Dawn based on the gameplay machines and controller and storyline. Now without wasting your time let’s focus on the games.
Days Gone
While this isn’t a perfect game, some elements make this a worthwhile buy. Days Gone presents story beats in distinct threads and is great at ambient dialogue. Players are also given access to various settlements, each with a distinct vibe and features.
Even the crafting system is great, and the game is a joy to play. If you’re looking for a game that will keep you busy for hours, consider Days Gone. This third-person open-world shooter is similar to Resident Evil 2 and The Division 2.
Players can either walk or use a vehicle to move around the game world. They can complete missions and errands and loot the dead to gain valuable supplies. However, they’ll have limited supplies and equipment. Therefore, players will need to take good care of their inventory. The game has multiple difficulty levels to help them master the game.
Monster Hunter Rise
This game features some of the same elements, a smaller version of Monster Hunt. The combat is highly addictive, and players can choose between two distinct game modes – single-player and multiplayer.
There’s a multiplayer mode, and you can play against other players as a team to level up. If you’re looking for a smaller game similar to Monster Hunter, check out Monster Hunter World or Shadow of the Colossus.
Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout: New Vegas is a 2010 action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. Its story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world around the city of Las Vegas, Nevada.
The game is the sequel to Fallout 3. In this game, you must explore the Mojave Wasteland and its post-apocalyptic version of the Mojave. This post-apocalyptic version of Las Vegas presents ghouls, fire-breathing geckos, and monstrous death claws. The game also features a variety of combat options.
Grand Theft Auto 5
If you’re planning to buy Grand Theft Auto 5, you may be wondering what makes it so different from its predecessors. The series has always struggled with the basic divide between freedom and story. The vehicular controls weren’t always the most impressive, but the checkpoint system allows you to resume a game if you die or crash.
The game’s story mode is one of the series’ biggest highlights, with varied objectives and a gripping narrative. There is also no shortage of things to do in Los Santos. Still, this game may not satisfy the GTA fanatic.
Despite the problems with running Grand Theft Auto IV, the game’s world and characters are stunning. You’ll be able to explore the fictional state of San Andreas, a fictional state based in Southern California.
You’ll be able to play as three different characters – Vincent, Michael, and Franklin – in an expansive game world designed to make you feel like a billionaire. You’ll also be able to choose from an impressive array of vehicles to buy.
Ghost Of Tsushima
When you look at the map of Ghost Of Tsushima, you may wonder why the game is so great. The game is filled with beautiful places and mountains, but it doesn’t feel like it’s full of filler content. Unlike other games, you’ll find a plethora of side quests to take on, which can be very enjoyable and lead to new weapons and skills.
The game will allow you to travel quickly from place to place, always a plus. The game is set in thirteenth-century Japan, during a time when the Mongolian army invades the titular island.
Players take on the role of Jin Sakai, one of the last remaining samurai on Tsushima, and follow him as he sets out to rescue his uncle. In the process, he becomes the leader of a resistance force to fight the invaders.
Unreal 2
The Awakening The game takes a different approach to the Unreal formula and puts players in the shoes of a former space marine, Marshall John Dalton, of the Terran Colonial Authority. In this sequel, players are expected to find some new enemies and interact with existing ones.
While the gameplay is still very similar to the first Unreal, some characters are more interesting than others. The story revolves around the titular character’s journey to collect seven artifacts that will combine into an ultimate weapon
Fallout 4
The Fallout 4 game is a post-apocalyptic sandbox video game set in a contemporary universe following a nuclear war. Players control characters that embark on their adventures in an open world. Your decisions will determine the course of the game, so make sure to choose your actions carefully.
Several awards and accolades followed, including Best Game of the Year from the Game Critics’ Circle and the Game of the Year award from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. In addition, Bethesda has released six downloadable add-ons to help gamers get more from the game.
No Man’s Sky
If you’ve been curious about the newest space exploration game, No Man’s Sky is a great place to start. As the lone explorer, your goal is to collect supplies, repair your ship, and explore the universe.
No Man’s Sky includes several ways to interact with aliens, including farming, scanning life forms, and crafting. The game also features a procedurally generated soundscape.
Marvel’s Spider-Man
If you’re a fan of open-world games, you’ve probably wondered if Marvel’s Spider-Man is like Horizon Zero Dawn. Fortunately, the answer is yes. Both games have an open world, but they’re very different. Horizon has a larger world and a more challenging difficulty. Spider-Man’s traversal is more fun than Horizon’s.
You can run up and down buildings and perform aerial acrobatics. Horizon’s traversal is more difficult, and finding yellow ropes in some caverns is painful. While Marvel’s Spider-Man is an excellent experience on PlayStation 5, a PC port would open up the game’s expansive world and allow the gaming community to dig deeper into the world and its characters.
Metal Gear Solid 5:
The Phantom Pain This is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and for a good reason. Its open-world gameplay, photorealistic visual fidelity, and feature-rich game design will make a lasting impression on the gaming world.
With Kiefer Sutherland in the lead role and a killer 80s soundtrack, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is the best game you’ll play on PS4 this year. This stealth action RPG has all the hallmarks of a Hideo Kojima title, but it lacks magnificent mechanical creatures.
While the game’s action sequences aren’t as thrilling as Metal Gear’s, its tactical gameplay and deep tactical depth make it a worthy successor. This might also be the last Metal Gear Solid game, but it does offer a different type of gameplay experience. If you enjoy a first-person shooter, you may enjoy Far Cry Primal.
Far Cry Primal
If you liked Far Cry 5, you’d want to check out Farcry Primal. The sequel to the hit Far Cry franchise, this game is set in the stone age and follows Takkar on his journey to find his clan and survive in a new environment.
Takkar ends up in the Oros valley, where he befriends a missing Wenja member named Sayla, who informs him that his tribe has been scattered. To save his tribe, Takkar will have to fend off the Adams and take them down. One thing that differentiates this game from Horizon Zero Dawn is the setting. Far Cry Primal is set in a parallel world, but it complements the game’s world-building.
Both games feature prehistoric animals, like Mammoths and Saber-toothed Tigers. The game also features several competing tribes and is great for gamers looking for endurance and a fun gameplay loop.
The Uncharted Series
If you are a fan of Tomb Raider or Horizon Zero Dawn, you should check out The Uncharted Series. The game series follows Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who travels the world to find legendary artifacts. The Uncharted games combine Tomb Raider and Horizon elements, emphasizing exploration, climbing, crawling, platformers, and a great story.
While this game doesn’t introduce new elements to the open-world gaming genre, it’s certainly an excellent example of a first-person perspective and a great way to start the series. The game features stunning environments and one of the best original soundtracks in the industry. Despite being a sleeper hit during development, Horizon Zero Dawn sold eight million copies in its first year.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
Are our Assassin’s Creed Origins similar to Horizon Zero Dawn? First of all, Origins is an action/stealth RPG, not a third-person shooter. Both are set in ancient Egypt. The game centers around the media Bayek of Siwa, who works to protect the town from Ptolemy’s greedy generals.
As a result, Bayek is forced to engage in an underground occult ritual to protect his village and its people. While both games have similar themes, they differ in their approach to setting. While Assassin’s Creed Origins and Horizon Zero Dawn share a similar setting, Black Flag focuses more on its story and setting.
On the other hand, Horizon Zero Dawn focuses on the Templars and Hidden Blades. In both games, you can also play with a multiplayer partner, making for a unique experience.
NieR Automata
While the game is very different from Horizon Zero Dawn, some of the game’s core elements are similar. Both titles occur in an increasingly dangerous world, but they feature antipodal characters and antisocial behaviour.
Gamers will instantly connect with 2B, the stoic, curt, and professional protagonist, while 9S is a curious, frail, and ambitious character. The latter acts as a conduit between the player and 2B, offering observations about the latter’s behavior.
In both games, players control an android named 2B, who fights evil robots to survive in a post-apocalyptic future. The game’s complex plotline will require multiple plays to understand. The gameplay is a mixture of mech combat and on-foot combat, and it’s a long, rambling adventure with a steep learning curve.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an open-world action-RPG game that builds on the game’s improvements from Origins while adding more RPG elements. This makes Odyssey feel like a new franchise, with its open-world exploration, resource gathering, gear-making, and choices.
While the game is less focused on stealth, the overall experience is still a full-fledged RPG that can keep gamers engaged for hours. The game puts players in the shoes of a sellsword during a time of turmoil and warfare for Greece. Athens is at war with its rival, Sparta, and the player must choose between the two sides of the family conflict.
The game features two playable characters, Kassandra and Polyphemus, each with their strengths and weaknesses. The protagonist’s life takes weird turns as she tries to reconcile family feuds and smuggle in treasure.
Jak And Daxter Bundle
The Jak And Daxter Bundle is a great way to experience the original trilogy of games for PlayStation 2. This game is the second installment of the series and combines the first and third games into a single game.
Players can switch between Jak and Daxter in the game, and the two playable characters can be unlocked for several extras. Players can unlock several player skins and other exclusive items through linking save files. Since its release, it has received multiple sequels and spinoffs, and Naughty Dog hasn’t touched the franchise in several years.
Thankfully, Insomniac has continued to support the franchise with the release of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is available for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
Batman Arkham
Series Players of the Batman Arkham Series will enjoy the game’s fascinating world, varied gameplay, and interesting cast of characters. This series presents interesting mechanics, such as character progression and stealth segments.
This series also features some spinoffs that are completely different from the original series. This review will discuss how they differ. Before making up your mind, read the following points carefully. The first game in the series is similar in style and gameplay, combining stealth and some melee combat.
However, it lacks some of the tightness and impact of the other games in the series. The game is also a bit long and has a lot of content. Players can upgrade their characters’ skills, use resources, and explore the world to complete missions. This game also received favourable reviews worldwide and was nominated for several awards.
God of War
If you have not played the God Of War series, you’re missing out on the most recent release. It is a powerful action role-playing game that places you in a specific role, usually an enigmatic ninja. Action RPGs require quick reflexes, deft judgment, and specialized equipment to win battles. The genre demands the best of gamers, and God of War does that with precision and polish.
This action-adventure game from the PlayStation 4 was released in 2018. A few months later, Marvel’s Spider-Man broke that record. But before you get too excited, consider the game’s similarities. Besides being a classic action-adventure game, God of War is a technological marvel.
The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 is a role-playing video game specializing in open-ended combat. As with Horizon Zero Dawn, players must prepare themselves for combat by learning about enemies’ weaknesses and preparing potions. Interestingly, the games share some similarities and even the same developers.
You can even choose the fighting style of your character, Talion. The game includes many characters from the film franchise. You can even play as Gollum and explore Mordor free-range. Several players have compared the game’s combat and side-quests to Horizon Zero Dawn.
Red Dead Redemption 2
This game can be difficult at first, the difficulty increases as you learn the ropes and unlock the full potential of its world. One of the biggest differences between Horizon Zero Dawn and Red Dead Rift is its slow pace.
It insists on animating every action, resulting in some of the best realism in gaming. Every decision Arthur makes affects the world around him, making you feel like you are living it yourself. In addition to its immersive gameplay, Red Dead Redemption 2’s detailed animations are another reason why it’s so addictive. Everything from cleaning a gun to skinning a buffalo to looting fallen enemies has its animation.
